Resguardo (TIE receipt) — Resguardo de Solicitud de TIE

The paper receipt the police hand you at the end of your fingerprint appointment. It proves your TIE is being processed and — most importantly — prints WHERE and WHEN to come back to pick up your card.

How to get it

You receive it automatically at the end of step 5 (fingerprint appointment). The officer prints it and hands it to you.

Take a photo of it as soon as you leave the office. Keep the paper safe — you cannot pick up your TIE without it. Many students also carry it instead of their visa for the next ~30 days.
